 Working Group 1: Standard & Guidelines

📑Summary

  • Key Goal: Develop a uniform international Standard for GC Schemes and Matching.

  • Main Activities:

    • Standard creation and consultation,

    • Help define Assessment and Verification process,

    • GC Registry API Specification creation.

    • Continuous improvement of Standards.

    • API Spec update.

  • Contribution Options:

    • Participate in standards updates (review/editing teams).

    • Get audited against the Standard.

    • Implement the API.

How to Join Working Group 1

  • Fill out the Sign-up form if you are new to the EnergyTag and Select WG1.

  • After that, you will:

    • Be added to the community WG1 mailing list.

    • Receive invitations to our meetings.


Our Standard Update subgroup meets every 2 weeks at 16:00 CET.

 Working Group 2: Market Development

📑Summary

  • Key Goal: Foster GC markets and case studies globally.

  • Main Activities:

    • Case Studies,

    • GCs in market design,

    • Webinar series on GC Markets.

  • Done so far:

    • Multiple working group meetings showcasing GC projects to 100s of stakeholders.

    • 29 EnergyTag Case Study Projects on 5 continents.

  • Next Steps:

    •  Further engagement with case studies,

    • GCs in market design.

  • Contribution Options:

    • Visit our Case Studies page showcasing hourly tracking projects.

    • Reach out at info@energytag.org to add your case study to our website.

    • Present your work on hourly matching to the Working Group.

 Working Group 3: Policy & Awareness

  • Key Goal: Ensure robust, granular clean electricity accounting in policy.

  • Main Activities:

    • Clean hydrogen in EU/US,

    • RED III update,

    • GHG Protocol update,

    • EU CBAM,

    • Various other topics listed in the Granular Policy Compass.

  • Done so far:

    • Successful campaign to enable Granular GOs in EU law.

    • Successful campaign to require hourly matching for EU Green hydrogen.

    • Ongoing contribution to US campaign for granular rules for clean H2.

    • Submitted multiple consultation responses (see Granular Policy Compass).

  • Next Steps:

    • Continued engagement in clean H2 certification in EU/US.

    • GHG Protocol Scope 2 campaign for granular accounting.

  • Contribution Options:

    • Reach out to inform us of important granular policy initiatives.

    • Inform EnergyTag of relevant policy initiatives and consultations.
